How will Apple's iBooks Author affect the education textbook market?I'm writing a piece on Apple's entry into the textbook-writing and distribution market with iBooks and iBooks Author, which promise whole new levels of interactivity for textbooks. How will this affect education publishers? Is this something big or simply an addition to the market? Will publishers adapt to take on board this new technology? Or will publishers from a multimedia background steal a march on them? I'm looking to speak to education analysts, and representatives of education publishers, both 'old school' and 'new school'. Interviews will be by phone in the weeks commencing 30th January and 6th February.
