It’s almost as good as Office and is almost free, but it’s still not the best option

All the same, while StarOffice is undoubtedly a great and perhaps even superior alternative to Microsoft Office and even Apple’s iWork, for most people the money spent on StarOffice will be money wasted. If OpenOffice didn’t exist, buying StarOffice would be a no-brainer; as it is, it’s just not compelling enough to buy.
